On 4 November 2019, some personal and intimate photos of Mithila with her boyfriend Iftekhar were leaked. The photos went viral on social media and several news publications published them. On 5 November 2019, Mithila addressed the controversy on Facebook and said that she had filed a complaint with the cybercrime department.

Rafiath Rashid Mithila is a mainstream Bangladeshi model and on-screen character. In April 2017, she was named as the Head of the Early Childhood Development program in BRAC International.
She has taken in moving from the "Benuka Lolitokala Dance Academy," music from the "Hindol Sangeet Academy," and acting from the "Lok Fashion Academy."
She was granted the Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal when she finished her graduate degree from the BRAC University.
